José Mabrilio Sisneros
A man
gifted with the vision to create the territorial-style compound, which
sits beautifully in the New Mexican landscape, and reflect the rich
history of the beautiful Rio Abajo (Middle Rio Grande Valley). The
various works of relief art, sculpture, literature and architecture come
together to celebrate a cross-section of New Mexican history, geography,
and spirit drawn from the people who have populated this land for the
last four hundred years.
Just as
many other families that arrived to the Kingdom of New Spain from the
time of Juan de Oñate in 1598, La Familia Sisneros has a documented
presence here since 1632. The history of these families is not one of
conquerors, but the story of a humble people who anonymously contributed
to this land, and have blended into the landscape and ambience of this
truly enchanted place we call New Mexico. This is the spirit we
celebrate and share with all guests.
